GHK Motors Sdn Bhd (Maxus Brunei) is bringing in the European-designed and the Chinese-manufactured Maxus T60.

Built to take on the toughest situations, especially when versatility and power is needed, the pickup is something off-road enthusiasts and commercial customers should look forward to.

The Maxus T60’s power comes from its cutting-edge technology. Equipped with an engine from Italian firm VM, the 2.8-litre Turbo Diesel engine features a variable geometry turbocharger and intercooler mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The engine is capable of producing a maximum of around 148 horsepower and maximum torque of 360Nm – more than enough for basic hauling jobs – with an overall fuel consumption of just 7.5 litres per 100 kilometres.

The Maxus T60’s output can be further managed by selecting pre-set driving modes: economy, normal, or power. Drivers can switch between the three different modes according to road conditions to improve the driving experience whether on Brunei’s road or off-roading through thick jungle trails.

But power is not the only highlight of the T60. The pickup also packs a variety of practical features.

These include rain-sensing wipers; front and rear fog lamps; electric side mirrors and side-step boards; 17-inch alloy wheels; rear bedliner; LED headlights with automatic levelling function and LED daytime running lights; a follow-me-home function and automatic headlight sensing. All these evoke a subtle sense of style as well as space with the Maxus T60 boasting a wading depth of 800 millimetres and a bed with a carrying capacity of up to 1,188 kilogrammes.

The Maxus T60’s interior is also something to look forward to after a day’s work with convenient features such as a 10-inch touchscreen monitor with AppleCarPlay and Mirrorlink, cruise control, multifunction steering wheel, keyless entry, automatic six-way driver and four-way passenger seat adjust, supplementing the pickup’s power with comfort.

The Maxus T60’s safety features should also put drivers at ease.

The vehicle uses adopted thermoforming, a first for such a technique to ever be used in pickup-making, while laser welding has also been used to help improve the strength of its body, leading the T60 to score the maximum highest five stars in the Australian NCAP safety rating.

The pickup also has standard safety features, including European-style laser welding technology; three-point seatbelts; ISOFIX seats; ABS and EBD; immobiliser; dual front airbags, and rear camera and sensors, 4×4, electronic stabilisation programme and tyre pressure monitoring system.

With shades varying from Obsidian Black, Agate Red, Lava Grey, Blanc White, Ocean Blue, and Aurora Silver, the Maxus T60 is available for showing at the Maxus Brunei showroom at Sumbangsih Bahagia.

Customers can contact GHK Motors for a viewing or test-drive at the Sumbangsih Bahagia, Beribi or its Kuala Belait branches.
